Joan Rojas, the Spanish founder of Buff, was looking for a warm, protective solution against the elements more than 25 years ago while touring the country roads of Catalonia on his motorbike. The legendary, multifunctional, seamless tube scarf was born. On the Buff Louis History multifunctional scarf, our founder Detlev Louis is now staged and honoured in a fashionable, elegant and stylish way.

The original tube scarf
The name Buff is synonymous with tubular scarves. And who came up with the idea originally? No, not the Swiss. In fact it was a biker from Catalonia called Joan Rojas. He wanted something to protect his neck from the wind and cold while touring on his motorbike. And because he came from a family of textile manufacturers, he simply developed a solution himself. It turned out that his seamless tube scarf filled a genuine gap in the market, and not just amongst bikers. In the meantime, Buff produces multipurpose scarves in countless colours, patterns and fabrics for all sorts of different requirements.
